Fogstar Drift batteries can be laid on its side; it is designed to be mounted in any orientation, including sideways, due to its lithium-ion technology which doesn't rely on the position of the electrolyte like traditional lead-acid batteries do. This makes it ideal for installing underneath the drivers seat on a T5/T6 Transporter.

The optional hold down bracket can be modified by slitting (with an angle grinder) off one of the lips, then you can secure the battery on its side under the seat of a T5/T6
